Founder & Distiller
Luke Jean
Luke cut his teeth in distilling working for Heritage Distilling in Gig Harbor, Washington. It was there he learned the craft distilling business from the ground-up, and the inside-out. Luke was among the first graduates of the associates degree program in Craft Brewing & Distilling from South Puget Sound Community College where he now teaches aspiring distillers of tomorrow.
Luke’s favorite spirit to make is gin! Try some and you’ll appreciate why we’re called Balance Distilling.

Customer Experience
Lory Payne
Lory understands what it takes to deliver a special experience to our guests at the distillery. It was her idea to incorporate farm life into the overall visit. Her positive attitude and attention to detail, plus a real passion for people, has made her the shining star of our distillery experience.

Operations / Brand Development
Ken Payne
Known around the distillery as the “guy who stirs the pot,” Ken handles the operations side of the distillery, which usually means making things, breaking things, and fixing things. You’ll also find Ken giving distillery tours in between – he’s a PR guy at heart. And his superpower is naming things – like the “Dunderdome.”
